((( INTRODUCTION )))

Hi there!

I'm Billie, and I love setting up mazes for my cats to play in.
But lately, I've been thinking of a new twist on my favorite game.
Instead of just making a maze for my cats,I'm going to
put them on Broombas!

I know Mom said not to play with it, but I promise I'll be careful.
I'll turn it on low and make sure the cats are safe.
And imagine how much fun it'll be to watch them zoom around the maze
on their little robotic vehicle!

I'm going to need to scavenge the house for stuff and things
to create a super cool maze that'll challenge
my cats' Broomba-riding-puzzle-solving skills.

I can't wait to see their faces when I show them what we're going to do.

This is going to be the best game ever!

Will you stay and play with me?

((( HOW TO PLAY )))

* The Broomba moves straight until hitting something and turning left
* Your objective is to route the Broomba in such a way to collect all the stars
* Each level consists of a set of items you can use for routing

((( KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS )))

* [R] or [SPACEBAR] to run or stop the puzzle
* [I] to show puzzle message
* [H] to use a hint
* [J] to open the jukebox

((( MAKING YOUR OWN LEVELS )))

Creating levels is part of play in Cats on Broombas. Complete the tutorial episode
and you've unlocked the editing functionality. There is no saving your levels in
the shareware version.

Most of the editing can be done with the mouse: left-click to toggle floor tiles
and drag objects around; right-click for context menu to add or edit objects.

Useful shortcut keys are listed in the in-game help menu, as well as some tips
on creating interesting levels.

((( SHAREWARE )))

This is a shareware version of the game, so do with it as you please. You can host and
distribute it however you want. Just keep all the files (including this README) around.

You can wishlist the full game on Steam today.

Or even buy the full version. Depends on the date you read this :)

((( PLAYING ON REAL HARDWARE )))

While it's not designed (or tested) on real hardware, it should be playable on a
lower-end 486 and above.

The game is designed to run in 320x200 on modern wide-screen displays without
stretching the height to fit 4:3 display, although it will still be playable
just with circles appearing a bit lopsided.

For digital audio Sound Blaster Pro or higher or Sound Blaster 16 must be present.
Sound Blaster 1.x and 2.x series of cards are not supported at this time.

((( TROUBLESHOOTING )))

If you encounter emulation stuttering, please try the following:
1. Change 'Video output' to 'Texture' or 'Texture perfect'
2. Change 'Texture renderer' to 'Direct3D'
