Rival's Chess Variants
----------------------

For an excellent description of many, many chess variants, visit
http://www.cs.uu.nl/~hansb/d.chessvar/historic.dir/shatranj.html

Kinglet
-------
The person who has no pawns left on the board is the loser. There are no rules regarding
check or checkmate and pawns always promote to kings.

Shatranj
--------
In Shatranj, the main differences are the moves of the bishop (elephant), the queen (general)
and the pawns. The elephant moves exactly two squares diagonally and may jump other pieces.
The general moves one square diagonally. Pawns may not move two squares on their first move.
There is no castling move.

An example of a Shatranj mate in 6 is provided in the save file "shatranjmatein6.rsh".

Self-Take
---------
In this variant, a player may take their own pieces. All other rules apply and castling is
as normal (no pieces may be taken on castling).
If you wish to take on of your own pieces, you should select the moving piece with the left
mouse button and select its destination with the right mouse button.
